Pramod Riswadkar
ProfessorProf Pramod Riswadkar has 25+ years of professional experience that spans across User Experience Design, Consultancy and Education, e-Learning Design, Multimedia Design, Publication Design, and Advertising. It involved working for multinational organizations in varying capacity viz. Designer, Manager, Consultant, and Educator, in corporate as well as academic space. He was associated with multiple academic campuses, corporate houses as well as communities with purpose. He loves to be involved in start-up ecosystems to convert ideas and experiments into professional ventures.
He has been engaged in the education space in various capacities, viz. Faculty Member, HoD / Program Head, Associate Dean (Academic Affairs), Head - UX Academy, besides being a Visiting Faculty, Jury Member and r of Board of Studies (BoS) at various design, management, and architecture institutes. He enjoys every aspect of learner enrichment… from counselling to selection to facilitation to corporate (and community) connections to placements. He has built high-performance academic functions in various organizations and finds it a very rewarding experience to groom young talent.
He enjoys classroom proceedings that provide an opportunity to experiment various possibilities along with young minds and stay up to date on emerging trends and technologies. He has demonstrated capacity to orchestrate design education ecosystems, with long-term strategic vision as well as short-term operational excellence by engaging with various stakeholders.
He brings international work experience, has managed professional engagements and nurtured design teams in distributed global work environments. The partial list of organizations he worked with include Learning Byte, Deloitte Consulting, Symbiosis Institute of Design, Infosys, Persistent Systems, and RV University.
A passionate designer, educator and consultant who prefers to strike a balance between critical and creative thinking as well as doing, with emphasis on functional aesthetics. He finds it very enriching to engage in various design activities ranging from strategic vision to tactical delivery. As a design educator (and practitioner), he believes that the learner (creator) journey is as important as the final design (creation).
He embraces effective use of user-centred approaches; aesthetic sensibilities coupled with technology advancements that can enrich ‘experience of living’ across the socio-economic spectrums.
He holds M.Des (Master of Design) from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and GD Arts (Applied Arts) from Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya, Pune, extended with various training and certifications related to design, technology and management.
During his free time, he enjoys reading, listening to music, painting, doodling, calligraphy, photography, poetry and watching films & reality shows.
